Entrepreneurs Showcase Skill India’s Impact

Over 100 successful entrepreneurs trained under Skill India initiatives had the opportunity to meet and share their experiences with Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Institutions like the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) have shaped these entrepreneurs, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision to transform India into a hub of job creators.

Acknowledging their contribution to the nation, Shri Pradhan emphasized that these entrepreneurs, for the first time, were being honored beyond traditional norms.

Expressing admiration for the entrepreneurs’ journeys, Shri Pradhan underscored their potential contribution to the country’s development. He extended gratitude to the government for its unwavering dedication to uplifting the underprivileged, emphasizing skill development as a catalyst for a new era in India’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Accompanying Shri Pradhan at the event were Shri Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi, President of the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and Smt. Trishaljit Sethi, Director General of the Directorate General of Training (DGT).

Entrepreneurs, sharing insights, highlighted how Skill India‘s training enhanced their capacities and problem-solving skills, providing unique differentiators for their products. They expressed gratitude for on-the-job training and invaluable industry exposure, empowering them to turn aspirations into realities.

Skill India Entrepreneurs felicitated by Union Minister

Some entrepreneurs took the stage to share experiences. In spotlight was Shital Tamang, a female entrepreneur from South Sikkim, leads Sikkim Handloom and Handicrafts, impacting the country’s growth trajectory. Others, like Indrajit Sadhukhan and Mr. Sanjeet, were lauded for resilience and success amid challenges.

Representing various industries such as beauty & wellness, handmade products, tailoring, sewing machine operation, and computer operation, these entrepreneurs hail from states like Odisha, Kerala, Sikkim, Manipur, Delhi, West Bengal, and Telangana.

Highlighting the importance of skilling India’s youth, MSDE’s initiatives aim to create a conducive environment for growth, fueling job creation, productivity, and efficiency for societal betterment. Schemes like PM Vishwakarma and the Skill India Digital (SID) platform bridge the academia-industry gap, fostering entrepreneurial skills for India’s ascent in the global startup ecosystem.
