Optimized Electrotech to Invest $6M for Next Gen Electro Optics

April 15, 2025: Optimized Electrotech (OPEL), an Electro-Optic surveillance systems developer has secured $6 million in a Series A funding. The fresh capital will be deployed to develop next-generation imaging payloads for autonomous ISR, high-speed imaging for space applications, as well as augment its market expansion amid growing demand, strategic partnerships, and an growing customer portfolio.

Founded in 2017 by Sandeep Shah and Dharin Shah, OEPL a private limited firm builds advanced electro-optic systems that span the electromagnetic spectrum. These are integrated with onboard analytics to provide real-time intelligence, enhancing situational awareness across defense, space, border security, and aerospace operations. OPEL has offices in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, with a prototype development facility in Bengaluru. The company mission is into developing imaging surveillance technology company with focus on Electro Optics.

The latest round of funding by OPEL was led by Blume Ventures and Mela Ventures. 9Unicorns, existing investors Rajiv Dadlani Group and Venture Catalysts, and Optimized Electrotech’s Co-founder and Managing Director, Sandeep Shah, also participated in the round.
