Suzuki Backs MeMeraki’s Plans to Amplify Artisan-Led Growth

January 30, 2026: In a strategic move to further its mission of integrating technology with traditional Indian arts, culture-tech platform MeMeraki has secured an undisclosed funding round from Next Bharat Ventures, the impact investment arm supported by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan. This investment is poised to fuel MeMeraki’s next phase of growth, with a clear focus on expanding its technology infrastructure, strengthening distribution channels, and driving artisan-led economic empowerment.

Founded in 2019 by Yosha Gupta, the culture tech startup operates on a unique culture-tech model that blends heritage research, digital storytelling, and curated commerce to promote Indian arts and crafts. The platform connects with over 300 traditional art forms and works directly with hundreds of master artisans across India. MeMeraki’s reach extends to more than 40 countries, making it a key player in promoting the rich diversity of Indian culture on the global stage.

While MeMeraki’s direct-to-consumer platform has gained significant traction, the company also boasts a strong enterprise vertical. Through this, it delivers large-scale cultural projects, including art installations, murals, and cultural advisory services to corporate clients, public institutions, and international organizations. This dual approach allows the culture tech startup to serve both individual consumers and high-profile corporate clients, creating a sustainable model for cultural preservation and economic upliftment.

The latest round of funding will be used to enhance MeMeraki’s technology platform, ensuring better integration between artisans and modern markets. The company also plans to expand its retail presence, both online and in physical stores, while deepening its engagement with artisan communities through structured onboarding, design assistance, and content creation grounded in cultural research.

MeMeraki’s goal has always been to create systems that allow traditional artists to thrive in the modern economy,” said Yosha Gupta, Founder and CEO. “This funding will enable us to scale these systems in a disciplined manner and bring more artisans into the fold, helping them gain better access to markets and more opportunities for income.”

Over the past few years, the startup has facilitated over Rs 7 crore in new income for artisans, with average income increases of 20–30%. The company aims to grow into a Rs 100 crore business in the next four to five years, further empowering its artisan network and expanding the reach of India’s cultural heritage.

“We were impressed by MeMeraki’s ability to blend deep cultural understanding with cutting-edge enterprise execution,” said Vipul Nath Jindal, Managing Director and Head of Next Bharat Ventures. “The company has successfully translated local craftsmanship into scalable, global opportunities, all while maintaining authenticity. This makes MeMeraki an ideal fit for our impact-driven investment approach.”

Next Bharat Ventures, known for its commitment to sustainable and inclusive business models, appears to have found a promising partner in the culture tech startup. With its track record of enabling artisans and driving cultural entrepreneurship, the startup is poised to create significant ripples in the intersection of technology, heritage, and economic growth.
