The AI pioneer and Coursera co-founder’s LearnVector, a new artificial intelligence startup designed to help white-collar professionals continuously develop skills as AI transforms everyday work. The venture debuts with a $100 million investment from Coursera, valuing the company at approximately $300 million.
Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for employees, Andrew Ng believes it will redefine how professionals work and increase the value of human expertise.
“AI won’t eliminate people from the workforce,” Ng said while announcing the venture. Instead, he argues that the technology will automate routine tasks, allowing workers to focus on higher-value responsibilities, provided they keep upgrading their skills.

The startup is currently developing its first set of courses, with an initial launch expected early next year. It will use foundation models from multiple AI providers and is actively hiring engineering talent.
Coursera will play a strategic role beyond funding. The online learning company plans to co-develop and distribute the startup’s courses through a partnership, reinforcing its long-term focus on AI-driven education.
The announcement by Andrew Ng comes as major technology companies, including Amazon, Meta, and Block, increasingly point to AI-enabled efficiencies while restructuring parts of their workforce. Against that backdrop, LearnVector is positioning itself around a different narrative: preparing employees for AI rather than replacing them.
