Bhanzu Secures $16.5M; Eyes High Value US Math Education Market

November 11,2024: Bhanzu, a fun, engaging, and fear-free math platform founded by Neelakantha Bhanu, touted as the World’s Fastest Human Calculator has secured $16.5 million in Series B funding.

The firm says it has achieved 8X growth since its last funding round, positive cash flow, and a strong product-market fit across India, the US, the UK, and the Middle East.

Bhanzu Taps Growing US Math Education Market

Founder and CEO Bhanu says “The U.S. math education market has significant potential, but it is dominated by large, billion-dollar companies that have not innovated their curricula or effectively embraced technology. This gap creates a significant opportunity for Bhanzu to revolutionise math education in the US.”

The Hyderabad based Bhanzu’s developed curriculum is designed to eliminate math anxiety and build confidence through small, highly interactive group sessions.

“From the time we met Neelakantha Bhanu 18 months ago, Bhanzu has evolved into a global math education platform using its unique pedagogical approach combined with the use of advanced AI to shape learning outcomes across geographies.

Furthermore, Bhanu has formed a solid team and a robust business model, which continues to have a strong growth trajectory while being cash flow positive,” added Epiq Capital’s Partner, Chinmay Katdare.

Neelakantha Bhanu Prakash, CEO and founder of Bhanzu, is touted World’s Fastest Human Calculator, a title he achieved at 15 by breaking records held by Scott Flansburg and Shakuntala Devi. In 2020, he won a gold medal at the Mental Calculation World Championship, earning him the title Usain Bolt of Mathematics from the BBC and praise from the President of India.

The fresh round of investment was led by Epiq Capital and supported by Z3Partners, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Ventures and Eight Roads.
