Britannia awards 10 winners of My Startup Initiative 4th Season

Britannia Marie Gold, a popular biscuit brand in India, has announced the winners of its 4th season of My Startup initiative. The program is designed to empower women entrepreneurs and encourage them to become financially independent. The top ten winners were awarded INR 10 Lakhs each to jump-start their business ventures.

According to Amit Doshi, Chief Marketing Officer of Britannia Industries Limited, the My Startup program aims to grow the representation of women in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. He said, “Our mission with the My Startup program is to steadily and sustainably grow the representation of women in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. The program focuses on three key requirements of financial assistance, skilling, and marketplace access.”

This season, the initiative has received interest from over 2 million aspiring participants, making it the highest number ever. The program has successfully trained over 80,000 participants with a business skills training program. The shortlisted contestants presented their ideas to an illustrious panel of jury members comprising women entrepreneurs, business and media personalities, and members from Britannia’s leadership team.

Shalini Puchalapalli, Director of Google Customer Solutions, Google India, commented on the finale saying, “We’re delighted to have offered a new community of homepreneurs this specially designed curriculum through Britannia’s My Startup Contest for the second successive season and wish all participants success.”

Britannia Marie Gold MyStartup to have access to Google WomenWill Program

One of the highlights of Britannia MyStartup Season 4 is that all participants had access to Google’s WomenWill program, a business literacy program with a “how-to” curriculum on turning an interest into a business, managing an enterprise, and promoting it for growth. All participants who completed the learning journey were awarded a certificate.

The program has collaborated with the likes of National Skills Development Council (NSDC) and Google to provide online training on financial literacy, micro entrepreneurial skills, and communication skills necessary in a business environment. Britannia Marie Gold has established a strong connection with women across the country, with the My Startup program playing a significant role in this.

The winners for this season come from some of the most remote towns and villages in the country, displaying incredible grit and passion to bring their business ideas to life. Britannia will play a consultant role and handhold the winners as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. With the program’s success, it is expected to encourage more women to participate in the initiative and drive their own entrepreneurial ventures forward.
