February 1, 2024: KKR, a leading global investment firm has successfully concluded the fundraising for its latest venture, the KKR Asia Pacific Infrastructure Investors II SCSp, amassing an impressive $6.4 billion.
This fund, is largest pan-regional infrastructure fund to have been raised for Asia Pacific, More than half of the Fund already invested or committed across ~10 investments. Moreso, it is specifically designed for strategic investments in the Asia-Pacific region, concentrating on essential infrastructure projects.
With a robust global network comprising industry experts and a seasoned team dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, the fund aims to deploy capital in critical infrastructure projects characterized by low volatility and robust downside protection. The targeted sectors for investment include renewable energy, power, water, sewerage, digital infrastructure, and transport.
Since its establishment, the fund has effectively managed assets totaling around $13 billion. More than half of this capital has been strategically invested in ten key projects. The majority of these investments have been channeled into the KKR Asia Pacific Infrastructure Investors SCSp, the fund’s counterpart dedicated to the Asia-Pacific region.

Hardik Shah, a Partner on KKR’s infrastructure team based in Mumbai, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “As Asia accounts for more than 60% of global growth, driven by rising domestic consumption and productivity, rapid urbanization, and an enormous emerging middle class, the need for new infrastructure and sustainable energy sources will continue to accelerate.”
“We believe this backdrop presents a significant opportunity for value-added private infrastructure investors, and we welcome the chance to invest behind the development and success of critical infrastructure across Asia-Pacific,” he added. The fund is backed by a group of global investors, including pensions, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, and asset managers.
