New Early Spring Fund Secures ₹100 Cr Backing from Godrej Consumer Products

Early Spring a new early stage fund has received Rs. 100 Cr backing from the FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. The new early consumer fund created by Spring Marketing Capital aims to support founders who are building the brands of tomorrow by providing them with the necessary resources to build strong offline as well as online presence by offering differentiated products in India.

Spring Marketing Capital is establishing a new Rs 300-crore early-stage consumer fund, and Godrej Consumer Products is the leading investor in this initiative. The company will also provide its expertise and experience to help early-stage founders build strong, sustainable companies.

Early Spring‘s first fund of Rs 150 crore continues to invest in companies at Series A and beyond, enabling them to leverage marketing expertise along with capital. The Early Spring Fund, on the other hand, will invest Rs 5 crore to Rs 20 crore in each company, from seed to pre-Series A stage. The fund aims to provide early-stage founders with the necessary resources to build strong offline as well as online presence by offering differentiated products in India.

Early Spring to back early stage founders to build online and offline presence

Omar Momin, Head M&A, Godrej Consumer Products, said that the investment is in line with the company’s purpose of bringing the goodness of health and beauty to consumers. He also added that the company intends to leverage its understanding of the consumer space and its learnings over the last decades to enable early-stage founders focused on building strong offline as well as online presence.

Godrej Consumer Products is one of the largest players of household insecticides, air care, and hair care in the emerging markets of India, Indonesia, and Africa. With this investment, the company aims to support early-stage companies in the consumer space, helping them build strong and sustainable businesses.
