Greenko Pioneers Greenest Race in India: 4950 KVA of Clean Energy Supply at the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix

The Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix 2023, held on February 11, marked a historic moment for sustainable energy and decarbonization in India. The event, which saw Jean-Eric Vergne of DS PENSKE emerge as the champion, also showcased the country’s leadership in energy transition and highlighted the potential of renewable energy.

Greenko, a leading Energy Transition and Decarbonization solutions company, played a pivotal role in the event by supplying a total of 4950 KVA of Clean Energy to the grid. This included 3000 KVA supply at IMAX and 1950 KVA supplied around the track.

To reduce the carbon footprint of the event, the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix incorporated several sustainability initiatives, including a visit by Nissan Formula E Team drivers to Greenko’s Integrated Renewable Energy Project (IREP) in Kurnool. The drivers were amazed by the scale of Greenko’s ambitious project and impressed by the company’s 7.3 GW portfolio spanning 15 different states.

Greenko’s massive renewable energy project in Kurnool includes solar, wind, and pumped storage capacities, which provided energy to power the historic racing event. This allowed for a reduction in the amount of energy that needed to be sourced from the grid, which is typically generated from non-renewable sources.

With an installed renewable energy capacity of ~7.5 GW and a presence in 15 states in India, Greenko is committed to developing 100+ GWh connected Digitized Cloud Storage across India by 2027 through Intelligent Renewable Energy Storage Platforms. The company is also entering the green molecule sector to enable deeper decarbonization.

Greenko Leads India’s energy transition and decarbonization efforts

“Our vision is not only to meet India’s growing energy needs but also to make significant contributions to the world’s energy transition and decarbonization efforts,” said an official from Greenko.

The Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix was a record-breaking event with 11 different teams from around the world participating. The event had an attendance of over 20,000 spectators and was an excellent example of collaboration between the government, people, celebrities, and media.

The success of the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix underscores India’s leadership in energy transition and decarbonization, and Greenko’s work represents a significant step forward in making these aspirations a reality. The company’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability is an inspiration to other startups looking to make a positive impact on the environment and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
