November 25, 2024: India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM) is gearing up to announce a set of pioneering startups that will be supported under its newly-established guidelines, aimed at accelerating the country’s quantum technology advancements.
Set to be unveiled on November 26 by Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, these startups represent the future of quantum communication, computing, sensing, and materials. The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has laid down comprehensive guidelines to ensure that these startups have the right resources and support to flourish. National Quantum Mission (NQM) : Empowering India’s Quantum Ecosystem
The NQM, launched in April 2023, is a major initiative to position India as a global force in quantum-related science and technology. Over 600 scientists and more than 50 startups are already working within the quantum field in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s quest to harness the transformative potential of quantum technologies.
To further this mission, the I-HUB Quantum Technology Foundation, established at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, launched a call for proposals earlier this year.
