CII Telangana announces first ever Zonal Council in Adilabad, to promote MANNA Corridor in Northern Districts

Hyderabad, India, March 9, 2025: CII Telangana at its Annual Session & Conference on Telangana : Building a Competitive & Sustainable $1 Trillion Economy on 08 March 2025 in Hyderabad announced the setting up of its first ever CII Telangana Adilabad District Zone on this occasion. This follows its outgoing Chairman Sai Prasad’s vision “Beyond Hyderabad“. CII ( Confederation of Indian Industry) also announced its plan to set up council in Northern districts – Mancherial, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal and Asifabad.

The zonal council in Adilabad will be headed by Sanjeev Deshpande, a serial entrepreneur based in the US.

Sai Prasad in his address said “CII Telangana adopted the theme building a competitive and sustainable Telangana @2047.” He added the real economic engines are our 2.6 million SME’s spread across our state.”

During the event, Confederation of Indian Industry Telangana also announced MR R Siva Prasad Reddy as its new Chairman for 2025-26 and Mr. Gautham Kumar Reddy as the Vice Chairman.

During their keynote addresses at the Confederation of Indian Industry Telangana annual session and conference, key leaders shared their insights. Mr. Rohan Sachdev of EY India highlighted that Hyderabad is becoming a hub for startups and innovation, with Telangana leading in renewable energy and sustainable growth. He urged businesses to align with ESG principles and leverage the state’s infrastructure and talent.

Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy of Cyient Ltd. emphasized the need for industry-academia collaboration to strengthen R&D, noting that AI will shape the future, but human intelligence must guide decisions. He also stressed upskilling the workforce for positive societal impact, and above all partnering, collaboration with startups.

Dr. R Nandini of Chandra Textiles highlighted the importance of strategic interventions in manufacturing, technology, and human capital to sustain growth. She pointed out that infrastructure projects like Pharma City enhance business competitiveness.

Mr. Sai D Prasad of Bharat Biotech stressed that Telangana’s $1 trillion economy goal is achievable, praising the state’s growth through technology and investment. He called for equitable and responsible growth while highlighting the importance of government-private sector collaboration.

Ms. Vanitha Datla of ELICO Ltd. concluded by affirming that Telangana’s ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy is achievable through collaboration among all stakeholders.

Confederation of Indian Industry Telangana has established a dedicated forums to foster learning and industry collaboration. The CFO forum with 43 senior finance leaders and ESG forum with 26 members from diverse sectors will focus on financial strategies and on sustainability, governance and responsible business practices.

Several steps to improve and increase integration of IWN and Yi in all CII Telangana activities, including panels, policy recommendations, events and activities were also announced.

A total of 19 policy representations were submitted to different authorities on issues and recommendations shared by the CII membership. Out of which more than 5 recommendations are in several stages of gaining GO by the state government.

CII Telangana also released a Report on Manufacturing 5.0: Accelerating Telangana’s industrial transition from Industry 4.0 to 5.0.

Major conference in the year focussed on MSME’s, Family Business, HR, CFO Conclave, Education, Packon, Infra, Real estate, IT, Defence, Space, and ESG.

CII also declared the winners of the 11th Edition of CII Telangana State Level Quality Circle Competition was held on 26th September 2024. A total of 24 team participated in the event. The first place was won by TLMAL- HIATUS Breakers, TATA Lockheedmartin Aerostructures Ltd. The second place was won by team PTR Fab Challengers Toshibha Transmission and the third place was won by Team TSAL MSD Innovation incubator, TATA Sikorsky Aerospace Limited.
