Unit 8200 Alumni Seal Boomi’s Third Israeli Tech Acquisition

October 19, 2026: The race to deploy autonomous enterprise agents is running into an old, stubborn bottleneck: bad data. Addressing this head-on, data integration giant Boomi has acquired Israeli startup Elementary Data for roughly $40 million to $45 million in cash and stock.

The deal marks Boomi’s third acquisition in Israel, following its previous purchases of Rivery and Lunar.dev, cementing a clear regional strategy focused on the country’s data engineering ecosystem. All 17 employees of Elementary, which was founded by alumni of the IDF’s elite Unit 8200 Maayan Salom and Or Avidov, will join Boomi to expand local operations.

Founded with backing from TLV Partners, Cowboy Ventures, and Y Combinator, Elementary built its reputation on data observability software designed to monitor the reliability of information flowing through corporate pipelines. As corporations increasingly hand over automated tasks to AI agents, ensuring data integrity has moved from a back-office preference to an operational necessity.

Elementary‘s platform consolidates data definitions, ownership metrics, and column-level lineage across ingestion, business intelligence, and AI layers. Crucially, it features a Model Context Protocol server that feeds data health context directly to AI tools, allowing agents to automatically run tests, catch anomalies in data freshness, and prioritize governance tasks.

Boomi Buys Elementary Data For 45 Million To Clean Up Enterprise AI

Beginning as an open-source project before launching its enterprise-grade cloud tier in 2024, Elementary currently boasts over 1.1 million monthly downloads and serves prominent clients such as Fiverr and Patagonia.

According to Boomi leadership that both the commercial product and the open-source project will continue under their umbrella with zero immediate disruption to code repositories or release schedules.

“AI is only as trustworthy as the data behind it,” said Steve Lucas, CEO of Boomi. By integrating Elementary alongside Rivery and Lunar.dev, Boomi is assembling a unified stack to handle the movement, secure access, and quality control of enterprise information worldwide.

Boomi moves and activates enterprise data for AI across a network of more than 30,000 customers and 800 partners, but the addition of Elementary is designed to tackle a critical bottleneck: ensuring that data is actually dependable enough to deploy. Rather than treating data reliability as a disjointed, bolt-on tool, the move bakes continuous validation directly into the pipeline the information already travels through, aiming to make data integrity an enterprise default at a scale Elementary could never have achieved alone.
