Millets Fair 2025 Tops with 36 Startups, 15 Federations, ₹185 Cr Deals

Bengaluru, January 26, 2025 – The recently concluded ‘International Trade Fair Organics and Millets Fair 2025’ in Bengaluru underlines the growing popularity of millet-based products, with over 330 stalls, including international and private sector representations.

Held over three days, the event saw a convergence of experts, producers, and consumers focused on showcasing the nutritional benefits of millets and their potential in diverse markets.

Among the highlights of the Millets Fair 2025 were 36 millet startups and 15 regional federations, all eager to display their innovative millet-based offerings. From noodles and pasta to ice cream, yogurt, and biscuits, these products highlighted the versatility of millets. The fair was not just a platform for exhibiting products but also a vibrant exchange of ideas, with more than 330 stalls including 170 from private exhibitors and one international stall, catering to a global audience.

The business side of the Millets Fair 2025 was equally significant, with 105 marketers and exporters, along with 194 manufacturers and producers, participating in 185 B2B meetings. These interactions resulted in an estimated market value of ₹185.41 crore, marking the fair as a major business hub for the organic and millet sectors. Participants from countries including Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, Italy, England, and Peru took part, underlining the international appeal of the millet trade.

Educational sessions were another key aspect of the Millets Fair 2025, particularly the farmers’ workshop coordinated with scientists from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. The workshop offered valuable insights into the latest research and technological advancements in organic farming and millet production. A series of 24 sessions discussed everything from soil health to the introduction of desi seed farming, with participation from progressive farmers, university professors, and students.

The event’s role in raising awareness about the importance of organic practices and millet cultivation was acknowledged by key officials, including Agriculture Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy and MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan, who presided over the valedictory ceremony. Their presence underscored the significance of promoting sustainable agriculture and protecting indigenous agricultural heritage.

With strong participation from the global millet community, the ‘International Trade Fair Organics and Millets 2025’ has firmly established itself as a key milestone in the sector, not only promoting millet-based products but also fostering vital global connections and knowledge exchange.
