Ayush Nivesh Saarthi Eases FDI, Domestic Investment Ayush Sector

New Delhi, 29 May 2025: A new digital platform, Ayush Nivesh Saarthi, aimed at encouraging investment in the traditional medicine and wellness sector has been launched by Government of India. The portal combines proactive policies with India’s rich biodiversity and traditional healthcare heritage. It is expected to simplify the investment process and expand access to India’s wellness economy

Developed by the Ministry of Ayush in partnership with Invest India, the portal aims to offer a single-window platform for both domestic and international investors. It brings together information on policy guidelines, investment-ready projects, and real-time support services.

The Ayush sector in India has seen steady growth, with an annual rate of 17% between 2014 and 2020. As global interest in natural and preventive healthcare grows, the portal is seen as a timely initiative to tap into international wellness markets.

Ayush Nivesh Saarthi Portal Brings Projects and Policies Together

Speaking at the event, Shri Piyush Goyal noted that the Ayush sector is fully open to 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) through the automatic route. He highlighted the platform’s role in connecting investors to India’s traditional knowledge systems.

“Through this portal, we are not only connecting investors with opportunities, but with India’s ancient legacy of wellness.” Goyal added.

Shri Prataprao Jadhav added that the portal combines proactive policies with India’s rich biodiversity and traditional healthcare heritage. It is expected to simplify the investment process and expand access to India’s wellness economy.

Ayush also contributes to medical value travel (MVT), with the sector playing a major role in India’s USD 13 billion MVT industry. With the portal now live, India aims to strengthen its global presence in the traditional health and wellness space.

The government expects Ayush Nivesh Saarthi to serve as a key tool for economic development while preserving the country’s traditional medical systems.

The portal was officially unveiled on 29th May during the Ayush Stakeholder and Industry Interaction Meet held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

The launch was led by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav. Senior officials and industry representatives, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, and Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, were also present at the event.
