Viyona Fintech Deploys UPI Switch at Bharat Cooperative Bank

Hyderabad, September 3, 2026: Hyderabad-based startup Viyona Fintech has gone live with its UPI Switch at Bharat Cooperative Bank, allowing the bank to connect its banking systems with the UPI network through Viyona’s technology.

The UPI Switch provides the technology required to process transactions and supports functions including transaction routing, reconciliation, monitoring and operational controls.

The deployment moves Viyona’s UPI Switch from testing and certification into a live banking environment. The company plans to use the deployment as a reference as it approaches other banks and financial institutions.

“Getting a payment switch certified is one part of the journey. Seeing it actually go live with a bank and process transactions is a completely different milestone for us,” said Ravindranath Yarlagadda, Founder and CEO of Viyona Fintech.

“We have spent considerable time building the technology, going through testing and working closely with the bank and ecosystem partners. This go-live gives us the confidence to take the platform to more banks,” he added.

Viyona Fintech Expands Banking Technology Business with UPI Switch

Viyona Fintech develops technology for banks and financial institutions across payments and digital banking. Its products include UPI and IMPS switching, internet and mobile banking, Bharat Connect/BBPS solutions, and systems for merchant payments, collections, payouts and reconciliation.

The company is targeting cooperative and regional banks as part of its banking technology business. These institutions need payment systems that can support transaction processing, reconciliation, monitoring and other operational requirements.

UPI transactions involve several systems working together to process and complete a payment. Payment infrastructure also needs to handle transaction failures, reversals and reconciliation.

“When somebody scans a QR code and makes a payment, they expect it to happen in seconds. Behind those few seconds there are several systems communicating with each other. Our focus is on building that infrastructure and making it dependable,” Yarlagadda said.

The Bharat Cooperative Bank deployment gives Viyona a live banking implementation of its UPI Switch as it looks to work with more banks. The company is also developing technology for other parts of digital banking and payments.

“This is an important day for our team, but it is also the beginning of the next phase for us,” Yarlagadda said. “We built the technology in India, our engineers worked on it from the ground up, and now it is running in a live banking environment. That is something our entire team is proud of.”

Viyona Fintech said its focus following the deployment will be on operating the UPI infrastructure and supporting the bank as it processes transactions.

Viyona also holds NPCI certifications across UPI Switch for issuer and acquirer services, IMPS, Banking Connect, BOU and eKYC Setu. The company said these certifications support its payments technology offerings for banks, billers and other financial institutions across India.
