October 31, 2026: Indian startup funding ecosystem ended October on a relatively subdued note, with homegrown startups raising $130.2 Mn between October 26 and October 30, marking a 29.2% decline from the $184 Mn secured in the previous week. However, the moderation in capital inflows did not translate into a slowdown in dealmaking, as 32 startups announced funding rounds during the week, an 88% increase from the 17 deals recorded a week earlier.
The funding activity reflected a relatively broad distribution of capital across sectors, with ecommerce emerging as the biggest recipient. Nine ecommerce startups collectively raised $33.4 Mn during the week, accounting for the largest share of sectoral investments. D2C brands Troovy and Ace Blend led the category, securing $10.5 Mn and $9.9 Mn, respectively. Their combined fundraising accounted for approximately 61% of the total capital raised by ecommerce startups.
AI emerged as the second largest funding destination, with five startups attracting $30.4 Mn. AI infrastructure startup Simplismart raised $14 Mn in a Series B round led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from NVIDIA, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax, among others. Meanwhile, Live2.ai secured $13.7 Mn in a Pre Series B round led by IvyCap Ventures. Together, the two transactions accounted for nearly 91% of the funding raised by AI startups during the week, highlighting investor interest in infrastructure and application layer technologies.

Among the notable transactions, Manastu Space raised $2.3 Mn, while semiconductor startup Nova Spectral AI secured $2.2 Mn in a seed round led by Shastra VC and Equirus InnovateX Fund.
Enterprise services startups collectively attracted $9.5 Mn across three transactions. Manufacturing solutions startup CapGrid raised $5.2 Mn in a Pre Series B round involving Hero Enterprise Venture Partners, Axilor Ventures, Anicut Capital and Nexus Venture Partners. Venttup also secured $3 Mn in a Pre Series A round backed by Rainmatter and Unicorn India Ventures.
The fintech segment witnessed funding activity from investment technology startups Mochatrade and Tradl. Mochatrade raised $5.5 Mn in a seed round led by CoinFund, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Zero Knowledge Ventures. Tradl, an AI powered trading platform, secured $4.1 Mn from Nexus Venture Partners and Stellaris Venture Partners.
On the investor front, Blume Ventures and Antler emerged as the most active institutional backers during the week, supporting three startups each. Blume Ventures participated in rounds raised by Cent, Rotoris and QwikBuild, while Antler backed dubdub, ReplyAll and Maasi. The participation of both investors across multiple transactions underscored their continued activity in India’s early and growth stage startup ecosystem.

In another development, AI native cybersecurity startup Protectt.ai is planning to acquire a controlling stake in AI security platform AIShield, which was incubated at Bosch Global Software Technologies. The proposed transaction will include primary and secondary components, with Bosch retaining a minority stake in the business.
Other Startup Developments: Sarvam AI, Parsec Aerospace In Focus
Beyond completed funding rounds, several potential transactions and strategic developments featured in the startup ecosystem during the week.
Bengaluru based AI unicorn Sarvam AI is reportedly in discussions to raise approximately $300 Mn from Nasdaq listed IT services company Cognizant. The proposed investment could value the startup at $3.5 Bn to $4 Bn, more than twice its previous reported valuation of $1.5 Bn.
Aerospace technology startup Parsec Aerospace is also in talks to raise around $10 Mn in a funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors, including Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Traveltech company Holiday Tribe is also in discussions to raise approximately ₹50 Cr from investors, including RPSG Capital Ventures, although the transaction is yet to be finalised.
In the consumer segment, D2C cat food startup Smylo is reportedly in advanced discussions to raise around ₹30 Cr through a combination of equity and debt. Existing investor DSG Consumer Partners is expected to participate, alongside a potential new venture capital investor.
On the valuation front, two funds managed by Baillie Gifford have reportedly marked down their holdings in VerSe Innovation, the parent company of Dailyhunt and Josh, by as much as 80% across different reporting periods.
Separately, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved Prosus’ proposal to invest $100 Mn in IPO bound fintech company Navi in exchange for a minority stake. The transaction marks Navi’s first institutional fundraising exercise.
Overall, October’s final week presented a mixed picture for India’s startup ecosystem. While the value of capital raised declined from the previous week, the increase in deal volume suggested that investor participation remained relatively broad. Ecommerce, AI and healthcare accounted for some of the largest transactions, while early stage investments continued across emerging technology categories. The activity points to a funding environment where capital deployment remains active, even as larger rounds continue to influence weekly fundraising totals.
