Holistic Startup ‘Gabit’ Promises Health Goals, One Click at a Time

In a dynamic leap into the health-tech arena, Gaurav Gupta, former co-founder of Zomato, has introduced Gabit, a platform aiming to seamlessly integrate personalized meal plans, fitness regimens, health tech products, skincare, and fitness wearables.

The startup, backed by an active website and a dedicated app, boasts an array of science-backed skincare products, personalized meal and fitness plans, fitness wearables, and health tech products.

At its core, Gabit leverages data and technology, featuring proprietary AI tools like FitBot (a personal trainer surrogate), Food Score (providing insights into users’ dietary habits), and SkinBot (assessing skin quality).

This launch aligns with a trend wherein consumers, spurred by the pandemic, increasingly prioritize health and wellness.

Gaurav Gupta elucidated his motivation behind Gabit, stating, “During the pandemic, it became obvious to a lot of us that we have been ignoring our health for the most part.”

Gupta’s personal health journey prompted him to delve into the interconnected aspects of holistic health, including nutrition, fitness, sleep, mindfulness, and skincare.

Collaborating with his wife, Arpana Shahi, and a team of wellness and nutrition experts, Gabit adopts a holistic wellness approach. The platform addresses diverse health goals, from weight management to managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, acne control, healthy aging, and overall fitness.

Gaurav emphasized, “The entire concept is around making sure you’re able to adopt and pick up good habits and make them part of your life, and we help you do that through our coaches, products, and services.”

Gabit introduces an AI fitness coach capable of correcting posture and estimating calorie consumption. The startup also ventures into skincare with a range of products, including moisturizers, serums, face wash, and sunscreens.

Gaurav Gupta, who played a pivotal role at Zomato before resigning in September 2021, brings his entrepreneurial vision to Gabit, focusing on an inclusive community that spans age categories from 18 to 70.

As startup’s community continues to burgeon, the startup is poised to redefine holistic health and wellness, emphasizing the integration of technology and personalization for a healthier lifestyle.

The health platform raised a seed funding of $9.5 million last year from notable backers, including Norwest Venture Partners and industry luminaries such as Amit Agarwal (Amazon), Deepinder Goyal (Zomato), and Kunal Shah (Cred).

Operating under Betterlife Horizons Private Limited, incorporated in 2022, Gabit lists Gaurav Gupta and Arpana Shahi as directors at the helm of this transformative health-tech endeavor.
