February 17, 2025: SKEGEN Asset Management LLP, a PE fund manager has signed an MoU with iDEX India (Innovation for Defence Excellence). SKEGEN has earmarked ~ ₹500 crores to back the defence sector in India. As part of this commitment, it has invested/committed ₹360 Crores in 2 iDEX winners, namely, Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt Ltd and Zeus Numerix Pvt Ltd.
SKEGEN’s vision is to support and accelerate the growth of design, product development, and manufacturing-led enterprises across a spectrum of industries. The focus is on supporting companies that require growth capital to enable their expansion across product categories and territories.

SKEGEN earmarks ₹500Cr for Defence Sector
“Going forward, on the completion of deployment of Fund I, the firm has plans to raise additional capital for the launch of Fund II later this year.” Navin added.
SKEGEN aims to strategically invest in a balanced mix of relatively stable growth opportunities and mid stage/high growth investments, utilizing a combination of financial instruments.
It will look for excellent entrepreneurial qualities; strong capability in innovation (preferably IP) based products/ services or highly scalable businesses with an established track record and clarity/focus on a sustainable business model.
The firm manages approximately ~ ₹4000 crores across different financial instruments and intends to broaden its scope by managing the assets of corporates and ultra-high-net-worth families who are keen on working in a professional investment structure.
