Indian Startup Funding remained vibrant in the month of April. The Indian startup ecosystem maintained its strong growth momentum and attracting substantial investments in the month of April, 2022 including a remarkable deal.
The total venture capital flow in the second week of April was $941 million, up from $574 million the week before. The $805 million fundraise from VerSe Innovation, the company behind DailyHunt and Josh, accounted for the majority of the rise in funding.
During the week, there were 27 transactions in the startup funding eco system , with the majority of them being in the early stages.

- VerSe Innovation raised $805 million from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, Luxor Capital, and others at a valuation of $5 billion.
- Flexible workspace provider IndiQube raised $30 million from WestBridge Capital, angel investor Ashish Gupta, and promoters.
- Fintech startup Enkash raised $20 million from Ascent Capital, Baring India, White Ventures, Mayfield India, and Axilor Ventures.
- Live video and audio platform Dyte raised $11.6 million from Unbound, Sequoia Capital India’s Surge, and Nexus Venture Partners.
- Doceree, a marketing platform for healthcare professionals raised $11 million from Eight Roads Ventures, F-1 Prime Capital, and Alkemi Growth Capital.
- Biomaterial startup Phool raised $8 million from Sixth Sense Ventures, Alia Bhatt, and the IAN fund.
- Gaming startup Bombay Play raised $7 million from Kalaari Capital, Lumikai Fund, Leo Capital, and PlayCo.
