Ola S1 Air, the Electric mobility startup new escooter has been introduced in the market. The booking for the escooter is now open and affordably priced at INR 79,999. The pre-booking is available at a price of INR 999.
The company stated that the customers who pre-book the vehicle can buy it when the booking window opens in February 2023. Ola Electric expects to start delivering the Ola S1 Air scooter in April 2023.
It will include a 4.5 kW hub motor that will allow it to travel up to 100 kilometres in eco mode and 85 kilometres per hour at its top speed. It will be available in five colours, including Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black, Porcelain White, and Liquid Silver, and weigh approximately 99 kg.
Ola’s S1 Air is constructed on the same S1 chassis as its previous two high-end scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro (priced at an ex-showroom price of INR 1 Lakh and INR 1.3 Lakh, respectively). To make the scooter more cheap, the business has decreased its weight, battery capacity, ARAI range, and motor capacity.
Ola S1 Air to arrive on roads in April 2023
Along with a new scooter, Move OS3—a new software upgrade—has also been made available by Ola Electric.
A proximity mode (for an auto-unlock system), vacation mode (to save battery life), screen calls, auto-reply mode, multi-sharing of the scooter (without providing them keys and documents), party mode (that changes lights to the beat of a song), fast charging, and more are among the new features.
Signups for the Move OS3 beta programme began today (October 25, 2022), and the test programme will roll out in early December.
The firm also has plans to go global shortly, develop its production facilities to enable mass manufacture of the Ola Lithium-ion cell, and introduce its first electric vehicle in 2024.
